The school holidays are almost over, and I can only guess how many books have been read by children during the last two weeks. I am so proud of my 'local' library for the activities offered to the community's adults and kids, during this time. Book Fest 2022 was a great success. My particular interests included the Talks, Panel Discussion and Literary Dinner all featuring Australian literary royalty. Bruce Venables was informative and humorous as the festival's host, reining in the witty panel members including Judy Nunn and Tom Keneally. Bruce Pascoe was a knowledgeable and interesting contributor to the discussion. Jackie French was…well Jackie French, passionate, funny, serious at times, but always fascinating and so generous with

Random Thoughts

Random thoughts - those things you remember that almost take your breath away. 'Whoa! Where did that come from' moments. I figure as you get older, you have more random thoughts floating around inside your head. I've recently had a few. I'm not sure what the trigger was, perhaps it was one of those Facebook posts saying,'I bet you don't remember your 3rd grade teacher.' Perhaps it was the need to write a blog. Whatever it was, I began reflecting on my interactions with students, specifically my pre-school students. It's true that not many would remember their pre-school teacher/educator, unless they went on to attend the attached primary school and were those kids who hung over the fence at lunch times calling out to you.
